Wellington Kennel Club.

[Per Press Association.] Wellington, Yesterday. The quality of the exhibits is excellent. Features of the show are the fox terriers, Scotch terriers, Irish terriers, cocker spaniels, collies, greyhounds, and English setters. The Hawke’s Bay dogs were exceedingly successful, carrying off the chief honours in almost every class they com- < peted in. In the greyhound classes, the Napier j dogs Black King and Black Queen each , secured first and special in their respective olasses, besides winning in the brace class and the prize for the best sporting brace. These two dogs were specially paraded before Lady Plunket for her inspection. In the English setter classes, Mr Paul Hunter scored first and challenges prizes with Belton Shot and second with Belton Rock in the class for dogs, open, first with Belton Riplet in the open class for bitches, and first in both the brace and teams classes. Mr C. M. Whittington, Waipawa, was first in the bitch puppy and novice classes with Windsor Molly. Mr J. G. Parker gained a very highly commended award with Kyle, and highly commended with Glen Afton in the class for rough-coated collie dogs, open, and third with Princess Wishaw in the open class for bitches, and the same award in the colonial-bred bitch class. In the fox terrier section, Miss Hindmarsh, Napier, secured first and special in the class for colonial bred dogs, first and special for dogs, open, and the j championship, with the Napier winner ! Kano. Mr W. A. Smith, Napier, was second with Napier Stipendiary in the puppy dog class, and third with Napier Schoolgirl in the puppy bitch class. Mr R. K. White, Napier, was third in the puppy dog class with Parepipi Afterdark, and second in both the novice bitches and puppy bitches with Parepipi Sunspot. Mr R. F. Rodie, Napier, for Castlepoint Bristles, was awarded first in the wirehaired open dog class. In Scottish terriers, Miss Jessie Hunter, Porangahau, practically swept the board, scoring firsts in the classes for puppy bitches, novice bitches, open bitches, and first and second for puppy dogs, and special for the best Scottish terrier in the show. Mr Paul Hunter gained first prize in the open dog class.
