Wainawa Dramatic Club.
,A meeting of tho Waipawa Dramatic Club was bold in the Public Library last night. Mr Bennett prosidod and there was a large attendance. The balancesheet of the last performance was pre eented and adopted. The honorary secretary reported tho receipt of five dozen play books, a makeup box, and sevoral colored plans of ecenery from London. A vote of thanks was unanimously accorded Mr Bradshaw for his trouble in selecting and forwarding them. It was resolved to stage Roberteon’s comedy “Caste” in Jane, for the benefit of a local institution The characters were allotted as follows:—GeorgeD’Alroy, Mr Bennett; Captain Hawtree, Dr Reed ; Sam Qerridge, Mr Standley ; Ecoles, Mr Whittington ; Dixon, Mr Parry ; Esther, Miss Sebloy ; Polly Miss E. Sebloy; Marchioness, Miss Boyle Messrs King, Stoere, Liddell, and Cosgrove were eloctod members of the club. Mr J Mogridge was appointed prompter. Tho honorary sooretary was authorised to procure band parts aud music for the orchestra. It was decided to hold the first rehearsal on Monday next. The usual compliment to the ohair terminated the proceedings.
