Social to Mr George Hunter, M.H.R.

(BY TELBGBAPH.) (own correspondent) Ormondville, This day Mr George Hunter, M.H.R, was entertained by a large number of bis supporters m the Town Hall last night. Tbe building bed been tastefully decorated for Ibe occasion and presented a gay and animated appearance. Tbe proceedings parsed off with eclat, and all spent a very enjoyable time. Mr H. Smith, sen., occupied tbe chair, and amongst tbo number on the stage was Mr Sydney Johnston. Complimentary addresses were delivered by Messrs O'Leary aod Brabazon Mr Hooter delivered a telling Bpeech, which was londly applauded, daring tbe coarse of which he thanked tho electors for the honor they had

oonferred upon him. He said he regard ed it as a duty to represent not only a section, but all of his constituents, and be would spare neither time nor tronble in attending to tbeir requirements. As their representative be would do all in bis power to advaoco the progress of the district, and improve the condition of tbe people. He would be glad to meet any of bis constituents from time to time and ta'k over matters pertaining to tbeir wel faro The proceedings were enlivened by several capital songs rendered in good style by Mr Rees Watkins and others. Tbe supply of refreshments was excellent aod reflected great credit upon the promoters of tbe social.
