Ho was bred at Gladbrook, Otago, by John Roberts, Esq., and is by Sir Arthur Gordon (No 161 “ N.Z. Stud Book ”), dam Darling 11, by Sir Colin, out of Darling (imp). Darling was a mure of great substance and quality, and a winner of many prizes. Darling 11, has only been shown twice, and took one First Prize and one Second Prize. Sir Arthur Gordon, the sire of Lord Gordon, was bred by the Hon Matthew Holmes (Awamoa) aud is by Young Banker (imp), who took First Prize ut Johnstone Show in 1875. At the Glasgow Show in 1876 he stood Second, and afterwords gained the First Prize in his class at Dumbarton and Kilbride Shows, while ho has never been beaten in a show ring in the Southern Hemisphere.
