Mr Gillies, the Premier, has written to tho Premier of New South Wales, expressing a hope that the international exhibition in Melbourne, in 1888, will not clash with the centenary celebration at Sydney. Sir Patrick Jennings has intimated that ho believed that tho two events would not clash. SYDNEY, This day. Tho statement regarding the death of John Tait is false, he being reported to be quite well.
