ADELAIDE, January 22. Arrived this morning—Scrota, from London. MELBOURNE, January 22. Alexander Lawrence, a teller in the City of Melbourne Bank, was arrested by the police yesterday on a charge of embezziiDg £l7O, the property of the bank. Tne accused confessed that he had embezzled altogether over £9OO by manipulating the mutilated notes’ account. Lawrence was formerly in the Bank of New Zealand.
