WAIPUKURAU RIFLE CLUB
A meeting of the promoters of above club was held at the Tavistock Hotel, Waipukurau, on Saturday, 18th inst., Mr King in the chair. The chairman stated that in pursuance with the advertisement convening the meeting, it should have been held in the Fire Brigade room, but owing to a slight misunderstanding which arose in consequence of the parties deputed to obtain permission from Miss Herbert’s agent for the use of the room not having been able to see that gentleman until the advertisement appeared, it was considered advisable to hold the meeting in the hotel. It was then decided to form a club, to be named “ The Waipukurau Rifle Club,” and a committee was elected to gather such information as regards working, Ac., from other clubs as was necessary. Mr Craig was elected secretary. The next meeting to be held on Monday, 27th, to receive the report of above committee.
