Bridge Over Mangakino River
It is expected that the new highlevel bridge over the Mangakino stream (which flows into the Waikato River), to give more, direct access between Mangakino and the site of the hydro-electric dam at Whakamaru, will be in use within about six or eight weeks.
A good roadway has been made, and deep approaches to the bridge have been cut, so that when the decking is completed vehicular traffic will be allowed to pass over it. Finishing touches, such as provision of handrails, will occupy the working staff for some time after the bridge is opened for traffic.
In addition to facilitating transport between Whakamanr and Mangakino, it will be of considerable assistance in the development of farm lands in the neighbourhood.
