Success of Cambridge Autumn Show

Satisfaction with the result of the recent two-day Autumn show was expressed at a meeting of the executive of the Wai-. kato Central Agricultural Association in Cambridge. The secretary, Mr C. V. Duignan reported that there would be a profit on the fixture of approximately £4O. The income had been over £IOOO, and prize money approaching £750 had been paid out. Donations had amounted to approximately £230. “From practically every angle we can feel pleased with the show,” said the president, Mr W. C. Wallace. He mentioned that he had attended most of the autumn shows, and there was no doubt that the Cambridge fixture set the main for the Waikato. The exhibits had been of a very high standard and the competition keen. Mr Wallace thanked the stewards and their assistants, and also the members of the Young Farmers’ Club and the children from the Cambridge High School who had given valuable help. He made reference to the splendid showing of the young riders, particularly in the musical ride and the Meeking Cup event, which took place in the main ring. There were still some improvements which could be made in the main ring, added Mr Wallace, and he hoped that these could be seen to next year. Special thought would have to be given to the home industries, to encourage more entries.
