Ansford caused i major surprise with a good third in the second "division of the senior 440 yards. But for being jostled on entering the straight he may have Avon. lan Paterson again proved Avhat a fine sprinter he is developing into by being a finalist in both the 100 and 220 yards from short marks against the best company in the province. J. Molesworth and D. Hulse ran well in helping M. Marshall (Hamilton) loAver the N.Z. record for the three-quarter mile. Molesworth ran a good race in the open mile and Avas a little unlucky not to be placed. N. Wallace, P. Hogan and G. Cleland ran well in the junior events but were unable to reach the prize list. The ladies again did their share to keep the colours before the crowd, Miss E. Atwood being the most successful in Avinning the ladies' 75 yards in fine style and gaining second in the 220 yards (a race for which she is mest suited) as well as being a finalist in the 100 yards. Miss Pat Hogan put up her usual solid display with a third in the 100 yards and Avas a finalist in both the 75 and 220 yards. Pat should make her presence felt at championships next season. Miss D. With Miss Pam Land on the outside position, Cambridge had the worst of it from the start but soon settled down'to pick up'team after team. To "see Miss Pat Hogan collecting the speedy Aucklanders was a treat, with Miss Evelyn Atwood carrying on the good work. On the last change Miss Audrey Colombus, with a great burst of speed-, shot into second place behind Lyndale (wh> had all the run of the race) and held on in fine style to gain a very good second for Cambridge, folloAved by Onehunga, Western Suburbs, Mt. Albert and Tauranga.
