FIVE PER CENT. INCREASE. . v ■*» EFFECT IN CAMBRIDGE. When we interviewed. Mr. F.. M. Oliver, Secretary-manager of the Cambridge Power Board yesterday,, on the effect of the 5 per cent, increase in the allocation of electricity, he, remarked that It woul4/“suit” them quite well; but in making that comment he was not suggesting that the consumers in the Board’s area should use electricity without restraint. Mr Oliver that over the past two months the Board had been over its quota--"on a 4. average of 4.3 per cent a week. At times, of course, the margin over mad been more, while «t othei periods it had been under. 1 The inci sasf would be very useful to the Boa: the' Secretary-Manag-er impressed on us to invite the people still to use the supply within reason. Throughout the periods of severe restrictions Cambridge has certainly fared much better than many other parts of the North Island.. Of late the only restriction applying here still is the 4 to 6 p.m. restrictive period on heaters and this measure is cancelled out at the end of the present month. .

It is to the credit of the Cambridge District consumers as a whole that they have co-operated with the Board and it can now be expected that the request of.JMr Oliver will be respected. M M fS M M - • • *
