Play for Alison Memorial Cups

WAIKATO CHAMPIONSHIP BASKETBALL

MATCHES AT CAMBRIDGE & A and B teams from Hamilton, Eastern'Waikato, Waipa and Cambridge competed for the Alison. Winter Memorial Cups at the Cambridge High School courts on Saturday. The successful teams were Hamilton A and Hamilton B.

The final match of the day between Hamilton A and Cambridge A was full of excitement and was keenly contested. Cambridge territorially dominated the game throughout; but lost the match through poor goaling. The final scores being Hamilton A, 19 and Cambridge A, 12, which was not a true indication of the actual team play. The following are the results of the day’s play:—

A Grade.—Hamilton A 20 v. Waipa 9; Cambridge A 29 v . Eastern Waikato 13; Cambridge A 28 v. Waipa 4; Hamilton A 18 v. Eastern Waikato 6; Eastern Waikato 9 v. Waipa 8; Hamilton 19 v. Cambridge 12.

B Grade.—Hamilton 17 v. Eastern Waikato 8; Cambridge 13 v. Eastern Waikato 10; Hamilton 14 v. Waipa 7; Hamilton 16 v. Cambridge 8; Waipa 16 v. Eastern Waikato 8; Cambridge 17 v. Waipa 16, Games at Taurariga

On Saturday, September 27, two teams will journey to Tauranga to play for the Ibbotson Cup (A grade) and the'Athletic Cup, for club team!?. V The Tauranga tournament will end a very successful season for the Cambridge Basketball Association.
