Ladies’ Golf Championships

EARLY ROUNDS COMPLETED

FINALS ON WEDNESDAY Last week the championships of the Cambridge Ladies’ Golf Club were commenced, and an interesting stage has been reached. On Wednesday the semi-finals will be played in the morning and the finals in the afternoon. Results to dal;e are as follows: Senior Championship: First round —Mrs K. L. Wilkinson, a bye; Mrs V. C. Hollis beat Miss J. Thompson, 1 up; Mrs D. L. Hastie beat Mrs L. Waite, 4 and 3; Mrs K. S. Browne beat Mrs Crabbe at the 19th. Junior Championships

First Round:. Miss N. Needham beat Mrs Ray, 5 and 4; Mrs Feisst beat Mrs Morrice, 5 and 3; Mrs A. Newcombe beat Mrs R. Ferguson, 5 and 4; Mrs S. Banks beat Mrs L. Mason, at the 19th; Mrs-W. H. Cubis won from Mrs W. Munroe by default; Mrs W. 0. Cubis beat Mrs D. McCathie, 1 up; Miss K. Fisher beat Mrs J. Haworth at the 19th; Mrs Bailey beat Mrs McCandlish, 6 and 4. , Second Round: Miss Needham beat Mrs Feisst, 8 and 6; Mrs Newcombe beat Mrs Banks, 3 and 2; Mrs W. H. Cubis beat Mrs W. 0. Cubis, 4 and 3; Mrs Bailey beat Miss Fisher, .3 and 2.

Junior Flight.—First Round: Mrs W. White beat Mrs J. Blackman, 2 and 1; Miss J. Sayers beat Miss P. McDougall, 1 up; Mrs E. J. White beat Miss J. Fisher, 4 and 3; Miss V. Appleby beat Mrs H. Windsor, 5 and 3.

Second Round: Mrs J. Linsley beat Mrs W. White, at the 19th; Mrs C. E. Hargraves beat Miss J. Sayers, 6 and 5; Mrs A. Webster beat Mrs E. J. White, 7 and 5; Mrs P. Skousgaard beat Miss Appleby, 3 and 2.

SATURDAY’S PLAY

PAIRS AGGREGATE STABLEFORD

A pairs aggregate stableford was played by members of the Cambridge Golf Club on Saturday, the winners being C. E. Hargraves and G. W. Allen with 63 points, next were W. H. Cubis and J. W. Jeans, 62 points. The best individual cards were, W. H. Cubis, 36 points, and G. W. Allen, 34 points.
