WELCOME HOME
A CIVIC FUNCTION TOWN HALL TUESDAY NIGHT We invite all readers to note the large advertisement on the front page of this issue announcing another "Welcome Home" dance to be held in the town hall to-morrow (Tuesday) night. This function will be in honour of all the service personnel who have returned to Cambridge over the past few weeks. In the advertisement there is a list of 39 men to be honoured, and if there are any others whose names do not appear, their next-of-kin or relatives are asked to immediately communicate with the town clerk's office. Members of the R.S.A. are invited again to form a Guard of Honour and donations of cakes, etc., for the supper will be much appreciated. It is the hope that there will be a record attendance and these men will receive a great reception. LEAMINGTON FUNCTION. \ At a representative meeting held at Leamington on Thursday night last it was decided to hold a social and dance as an official "Welcome Home" to all Leamington returned personnel and district personnel who had attended the Leamington School. That is all men from Pukekura, and Roto-o-rangi, etc., who, while living outside the Leamington Town district boundary, nevertheless attended the Leamington School. . The work of compiling a list of returned personnel is in the hands of the town board clerk, Mr R. S. Entwistle, and he informs us that already he has a list of 49 names. The names are published below and if there are other personnel, whose names are not included, the next-of-kin, or relatives, are asked to send them into Mr Entwistle's office as soon as possible. The Leamington function will be held in the town hall, on Thursday, October 25.
