AUXILIARY RESERVE COMPANY THE FORTNIGHTLY PARADE The Auxiliary Reserve Company in Cambridge continues to increase its activity, and there was an attendance of over 140 men at last night's parade; .The.: Commanding Officer, Mr E. J* F. Kennedy, expressed his appreciation of 'the work carried out during September. The schedule drawn up had been completed, and an. interesting pro,gramme was to be arranged for October. Rifle exercises, first aid and foot drill were taken by the respective platoons last night, apart from the specialised sections of signallers, Vickers and Lewis machine-gun-ners, and scouts and snipers. After the roll call, Mr Kennedy referred to the King's broadcast speech heard in New Zealand that morning. The Commanding Officer called on the chaplain of the company, the Rev. H. W. Hitchcock, to offer a short prayer, in keeping with the remarks of His . Majesty that the Empire was fighting a righteous battle with God on its side.
