Vital Statistics.—The vital statistics for Cambridge for February, with figures, for the corresponding period of 1939 in parentheses, are: Births, 14 (10); deaths, 4 (nil); marriages, 3 (5).
Leave for Troops.—Members of the second echelon will have a fortnight's leave at Easter, according to a statement made in Auckland. It is also expected that a grant of £3 will be made to each man before leaving.
"The Home of Polo."—In presenting trophies at the conclusion of the Waihou Polo Club's tournament at Te Aroha last Saturday, the president referred to Te Aroha as "the Home of Polo." "I hope there are no Cambridge people listening," he added amid laughter.
Second-hand Dealers. — Although it is not generally known, there are a number of second-hand dealers in Cambridge, the Taw bringing many business firms into this class. These dealers' require to be licensed, and as the year ends on March 31, most of them will, be making application for a renewaT at the sitting of the Magistrate's Court this month.
