FIFTH WET SATURDAY
OVER AN INCH OF RAIN ALL SPORT POSTPONED For the fifth successive week, heavy rain fell in Cambridge on Saturday, causing an abandonment of all sport. The present summer is now considered one of the most unseasonable for many years. The rainfall was 1.02 in. on Saturday, bringing the total for the month to 2:51in., and for the year to 9.72 in. There have been several cold nights, and fires have been lighted in many homes. The coldest night was on Saturday, when the thermometer fell to 39.4 degrees, or 9.1 degrees above frost point. The rainfall yesterday was .09in., making the total for the month 2.6 in. and the year 9.81 in.
