POSTMASTER LEAVING

MR C. B. McNATTY’S PROMOTION APPOINTMENT TO HAMILTON Mr C. B. McNatty, who has been postmaster at Cambridge for the past three years, has been advised of his transfer on promotion to the position of deputy-postmaster at Hamilton. The appointment, which is a new oflice, will not take place until the new Post Office is* opened in Hamilton.

The departure of Mr and Mrs McNatty from Cambridge will be much regretted. Both have been valuable members of the Golf Club. Mr McNatty has also been a keen bowler, commencing the sport since coming to Cambridge, and Mrs McNatty has been an active member of the Cambridge Tennis Club. It will probably be June before Mr McNatty leaves Cambridge, and the appointment of a new postmaster to take his place will be made before that date.

Several other changes are to be made at the Post Office. Miss E. J. F. Black, supervisor of the telephone exchange, has been promoted to the position of supervisor at New Plymouth. She has been in Cambridge for the past 11 years, and expects to leave witnin a month. Miss Black has been a member of the Golf Club during the years she has been in Cambridge. Miss M. B. Whitten, of Hamilton, will join the staff of the Cambridge telephone exchange next Monday. She will be a supervisor in place of Miss Simmons, who was transferred to Napier last year.

Mr J. Henricksen, who has been the lines foreman of the Cambridge Post and Telegraph Office for the past 29 years, will leave shortly on transfer to Auckland..
