OBITUARY

MR J. C. GRAHAM/ FATHER OF CAMBRIDGE MAN The death has occurred at Christchurch of Mr J. C. Graham, aged 77 years, father of Mr P. Graham, of Cambridge. For many years Mr Graham was in business on his own account, and in 1934 he went to Matamata to take charge of the drapery department of the Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited. In his early days he was a keen cricketer, and continued his interest in the game to the end. For many years he was a, member of the Christchurch Licensing Committee and was well known in club life. Failing health compelled his retirement from business about a year ago. MR JOHN MOORE The death has occurred at Whatawhata of Mr John Moore, at the age of 90 years. Born in County Monahan, Northern Ireland, he came to New Zealand in 1881, landing at Auckland. Mr Moore was at first employed by the Railway Department, being engaged in the construction of the line to the Waitakarei Hills. Later he took up farming in the Waikato and Raglan counties and continued in that occupation until his retirement 17 years ago, when he went to live at Whatawhata. He was a member of the Orange Lodge and the Alpha Masonic Lodge, Cambridge. Mrs Moore predeceased him two years ago. Mr Moore is survived by three sons and three daughters.

Lecture for Farmers. —An interesting lecture on “Seasonal Diseases” will be given by Mr G. Melrose, of Te Awamutu, in the Farmers’ Club room on Tuesday night next, under the auspices of the Cambridge Young Farmers* Club.
