STRIKE ENDS
THE HUNTLY DISPUTE COAL SUPPLIES AVAILABLE The serious position threatening industry as a result of a coal shortage was removed yesterday when the 1000 miners, who had been on strike at six mines at Huntly, resumed work. The strike lasted all last week, and was due to the dismissal of a 76-year-old worker, who, it is understood, has been reinstated. Coal supplies will arrive for the Cambridge Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, this morning. Had the strike continued it might have been, necessary to close the Hautapu factory. Such a move was obviated at the week-end, owing to small supplies being secured from neighbouring coal-using concerns.
