WOMENS DIVISION

THE CAMBRIDGE BRANCH CATERING AT DOG TRIALS The monthly meeting of the Cambridge Branch of the Women’s Division Farmers’ Union was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall on Monday afternoon, Mrs J. Cooper presiding over a good attendance of members. The meeting opened with the recital of the creed; afterwards the members all stood in silence as a mark of respect to our late King. Apologies were received from Mesdames Care, Peake, Campin, Erb and Carson. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The meeting discussed the catering for the Sheep Dog Trials to be held early in April. It was decided to undertake the catering on the same basis as last year, but with a charge of 1/- for all meals served. The president gave a report of the Dominion Executive meeting held recently in Hamilton. On the motion of Mrs Lambie a hearty vote of thanks to the president was carried by acclamation. Mrs Lambie was the winner of the treasure hunt, and Mrs CampbellSmith won the competition arranged by Mrs J. A. Wallace. It was decided to hold a Flower Show at next meeting with classes as follows: Decorative Bowl; Six Dahlias; Six Varieties of Flowers in Three Vases. Afternoon tea brought a very enjoyable meeting to a close, the hostesses being Mesdames E. C. Wallis, Perkins, and J. A. Wallace.
