AIRMAN KILLED

MR M. C. McGREGOR’S DEATH (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, To-day. While landing at the Rongotai aerodrome, Wellington, yesterday, an air taxi struck the anemometer mast and the pilot, Squadron-Leader M. C. McGregor, was killed. The only passenger, Mr C. W. F. Hamilton, a sheep-farmer of Fairlie, escaped with slight injuries. Heavy rain was falling at the time of the accident, and the ’plane, a Miles Falcon monoplane, fell upsidedown and was badly smashed. Squadron-Leader McGregor was horn at Huntcrville, 40 years ago, and was very well-known in the Waikato. He had a distinguished war record in the Royal Flying Corps.
