TE AWAMUTU SALE LARGE YARDING OF SHEEP The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report having held their usual stock sate on Thursday when an exceptionally heavy yarding of sheep, with a good proportion of fats, for which competition on all classes was brisk. The entry of store sheep included a good number of lambs, values remaining unchanged. Ewes, of only a medium quality, found a good sale. The usual entry of cattle comprised a fair proportion of fat cows and heifers, for which values remained unchanged. The entry of second quality and boner cows were absorbed by the exporters at late rates, while potter bulls showed no alteration.
All classes of pigs were penned in large numbers. Competition was fair and a total clearance was effected at late rates. Quotations .are: Sheep: Prime fat lambs 23/6 to 24/8; medium 21/- to 22/10; lighter 18/- to 19/6; good fat wethers 24/5 to 25/7; lighter 19/6 to 22/11; heavy fat ewes 14/6 to 16/-; lighter 12/- to 13/6; killable 10/- to 11/3; forward conditioned rape lambs 15/8 to 16/3; store lambs 13/ to 14/7; smaller 11/- to 12/3; cull lambs 6/- to 10/1; s.m. breeding ewes 20/- to 23/-; failing mouth ewes 16/- to, 118/6; broken mouth ewes 12/- to 14/8; aged and inferior ewes 8/to 9/9. Cattle: Good fat cows and heifers £6 to 6 12/-; medium £4 15/- to £5 11/-; lighter £3 18/- to £4 10/-; killable cows £3 5/- to £3 11/-; heavy boners £2 10/- to £3 1/-; lighter 2#/to £2 4/-; heavy, potter bulls £5 to £6 7/6; lighter £2 10/- to £4 5/-. Pigs: Heavy baconers £2 15/- to £2 17/-; medium £2 11/- to £2" 14/-; light £2 II- to £2 9/-; heavy porkers £2 to £2 5/-; light 33/- to 36/-; large stores 27/- to 30/-; medium 22/- to 25/-; slips 18/- to 20-; best wea'ners 13/- to 15/-; smaller 8/- to 10/-.
