Sales Tax Reduction —The Feihling Chamber of Commerce la.st week decided to support a proposal that the present sales tax should be abolished. Mr A. J. Humphrey said tliat tlic tax of a per cent usually amounted to 1" p.c. • The charges for the collection of the ■ salo v tax amounted to ns high ns 30 per cent, compared with 7 per cent for collecting customs revenue, and from •f,l to 4 per cent for the collection of (income tax. The motion passed stated "that failing the abolishment of the tax, It should be reduced to 21 per cent.
