FINAL MEET AT FENCOURT. LARGE AND REPRESENTATIVE ATTENDANCE. The final meet of tho season of the Waikato Hounds took place on Saturday, the meet being at Mr Hunt’s Corner, Fencourt. The day was ideal for hunting and there was a large and representative field. Many people were also present in cars to view the hunt from tho road. Tho Huntsman endeavoured to call hounds off as they were running into wrong country, but with scent breasthigh and hounds half a mile away it was impossible to stop them. However 3-i couple returned, the rest continuing with the Whip in pursuit. The Huntsman carried on for some time with 3£ couple, the Whip eventually returning with the balance of the pack. The hunt continued on through Mr Harbutt’s, where two hares were found, but went away to the hills. Mr William Brown’s farm was drawn without success. Hounds then moved to the Master’s property where a good liaro was soon on foot and gave a good run over the hills, back through Messrs Swayne’s, Wallace’s, Court’s and on to Ross’s property, where hounds were called off for the day.
