OBITUARY

• EARLY COLONIST PASSES. Through the death of Miss Solina Bi'ocleriek, which occurred at Johnsonvillo, Wellington, a few days ago, there has passed away one who was closely connected with the early settlement of New Zealand. Miss Brodcrick was born in Wellington over 85 years ago, her parents having arrived in Wellington in 1841. Miss Brodcrick's father and his brother (M;r Drake) were very wellknown as among the most enterprising early settlers of Wellington. The Wellington Evening Post devotes almost a column to early reminiscences connected with Miss Brodcrick\s early life. Miss Brodcrick was an aunt to Mrs Frank Penn, of Cambridge, and also a connection of Mr Lcstock Jenkins, of Cambridge.
