SHOW TAKINGS LOST

ST ALL-HOLDER’S MISTAKE. LOCAL RESIDENT’S LOSS. To lose practically the whole of his day’s takings at the show on People’s Day, Thursday, was the misfortune of Mr B. Wells, of Victoria Street, Cambridge. ' Mr Wells was conducting an icecream and refreshment stall at the show, and the takings, about £25 to £3O in a small handbag, were placed in a box for safe-keeping, i Towards the close of the day a side-showman came along and, on request, was given a box[ which a little later was discovered to be the one containing the money. Immediately the money was missed, inquiries were made by Mr Wells, But there was no trace of the showman, nor of course the box and money. The matter has been placed in the hands of the police, but Mr Wells is very doubtful of recovering the money. As advertised Mr Wells would welcome any information leading to its recovery. ■ . :
