PERSONAL.
Mr J. F. Hooker, of New Plymouth, is the guest of Mr and Mrs James Hooker, of Hall .Street. Mrs Eric Rose, of Karapiro, who has been seriously ill in the Waikato Hospital is now making satisfactory progress towards recovery.
Mr and Mrs Frank Penn returned to Cambridge this morning, after visiting the South Island. After Mr Penn attended the Methodist Conference at Dunedin, he and Mrs Penn paid a'short visit to Queenstown and Christchurch. Lieut. F. Thomason left Cambridge on Thursday night to connect with the Main Trunk express, on route to Nelson, where ho will represent the local Fire Brigade at the annual conference of Fire Brigades, which commences on Monday. Lieut. Thomason will be away from Cambridge about a fortnight and on his return from Nelson will visit relatives and friends in the Wanganui and Taranaki districts.
Mr 11. A. Harris, the well-known auctioneer, of Hautapu, has severed liis connection with Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., after 16 years’ service and is going into the butchery business in Cambridge. During his long association with the stock business as Cambridge agent for Mcsrs Dalgety and C 0.,: Ltd., Mr Harris has earned for himself the high regard of district farmers, who will regret his severance from the firm, but will be pleased he is not leaving the district.
