A limited number of Thursday’s j issue of the Independent containing the ! judges’ awards and a full account of the Cambridge Show are still available. There has been a considerable demand for these from successful exhibitors -who are posting copies of the paper ! away to their friends. j John Logan, aged 49, was killed and | W. D. McLean was gravely ! injured j when a number of heavy condenser' coils which were being placed in position at the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company’s premises at King’s Wharf collapsed on Thursday. 1 Miss E. Mountford, matron of the Hawke’s Bay Children’s Home on Motuihi Island, wishes to thank some Cambridge girls who have very kindly sent to her a parcel of useful garments for the girls under her care. The parcel was sent anonymously having only a note inside to the effect that it was from some sympathetic girls in Cambridge. Miss Mountford is particularly grateful to them for their kindness. j As will be seen in an advertisement : on pago one of to-day’s issue Mr W. S. Gardner, the Upper Victoria Street butcher has now taken into partnership 1 with him Mr Harry Harris, the wellknown acutioneer and late Cambridge agent for Messrs Dalgety and Co. As stock buyer and agent for the aforementioned firm for the past 16 years Mr Harris is so well and favourably known to the people of the district, that it is only necessary to say that his wide circle of friends and acquaintances will be pleased he is not leaving the district. The partnership assures customers and the general public that every effort will be made in the future to scrvi? them well. As in the past the primest of meat will be sold at the lowest possiblo price.

By special Gazette issued this morning summer time, which commenced on October 12 last, will end at 2 a.m. Sunday, Mar'ch 15, when the time will be put back thirty minutes. At the Supreme Court at Hamilton on Thursday last, before Mr Justice Smith, on the application of Mr Kingsford, Gladys Lillian Chapman was granted a decree nisi in divorce against her husband, George Henry Chapman, of Cambridge, and an order made giving her interim cusody of the child of tlio marriage. As usual Messrs Dalgety and Co. are holding their ordinary stock sale at the Cambridge yards on Monday, when they will be offering about 1200 sheep, in addition to other stock. The local agent for Dalgety’s, Mr H. A. Harris, is severing his connection with the firm, but his final sale will, be held on Monday, March 30.
