THE FIRST FROST
VERY SLIGHT ONE THIS MORNING THERMOMETER EEGISTERS 30.3. The first frost of the present autumn was experienced this morning in Cambridge, when the temperature on the grass at the local climatic station registered 30.3. The standard thcrmom-c-tors arc set to register a frost at 30.4, so that we had only .1 degree of frost. In certain parts of the town and district the frost was more severe than at the Domain, where the climatic station is situated, and it is quite prob: able that damage will have been done to tender crops. Judging by the nippiness of the air last night a more severe frost was anticipated.
