OBSTETRICAL FUND. THE DISTRICT AMOUNTS. : WELLINGTON NOW LEADING. (By Telegraph—Press Association). STRATFORD, March 24. • The returns received by Dr Doris: Gordon, secretary of the Obstetrical Fund, show that Wellington is leadingwith £4730. Canterbury has so far" raised £2600, but several returns have yet to come. The return vfroni Dunedin shows £IBOO to date, but Southland is not included. Auckland City so far has raised £2OOO. The Wellington district return is made up as follows: Wanganui, £1130; Taranaki, £1052; Wellington City, £800; Hawke's Bay, £700; Manawatn, £655; Wairarapa, £395. NAPIER BOOB3IAKERS. SALUTARY FINES. NAPIER, This Day. Stating that he would be lacking in his duty to the public if he did not severely mark the conduct of men who deliberately flouted the law by carrying on business as bookmakers, Mr A. M. Mowley, S.M., yesterday fined Arthur Joseph Yeo £350 for bookmaking and fined James Samuel Golding £l5O for tookmaking and £IOO for occupying & common gaming house.
