Mr T. Martin, of Rototuna, has been re-elected unopposed president of the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association.

SOCIAL NEWS. A KITCHEN E v~ENING. On Wednesday evening last the many friends of Miss M. Mann gave her a surprise kitchen evening on the occasion of her coming marriage to Mr E. A. Baer. The evening was held at the residence of Mrs Baer, the rooms of which were beautifully decorated for the occasionr The evening was spent in dancing and games, Miss Jamieson being the winner of two prizes, while Mrs Mitchel, Mr Joyce, Mr Jamieson and Mr Keano were the other winners. The couple were the recipients of a host of most useful and beautiful presents. The evening proved a most enjoyable one to all present.
