N.Z. PARACHUTIST'S DISPLAY AT HASTINGS AEEO CLUB. "There . ; he goes!" This simultaneous release of pent up excitement on the part of the crowd assembled at the Hawko's Bay Aero Club's ground on Saturday, signified that Captain Jonassen had made his leap from a 'plane at height of 3000 ft. The parachutist used a new R.A.F. 'chute of a smaller spread than the one he had been accustomed to and in consequence the speed of his fall was faster than he anticipated. However, he landed safely and except for a minor ankle injury, duo to his heavy landing, he was unharmed. The captain leapt from the plane during the course of a loop.

It had been intended that the captain should give a display of acrobatics on a trapeze suspended from the plane, but at the last moment the. authorities stepped in and forcbadc the display. A display of stunts and tricks were given by Captain T. W. White in a Mypsy Moth. ■ •
