A DANGEROUS CORNER
ON KARAPIRO MAIN ROAD. 1M PRO VEMENT WANTED. During Mr Clinkard’s visit to taoroa district yesterday to open the school, Mr It. Newcombe interviewed the member regarding the dangerous corners on the main Karapiro road at Humphries’ Gully, about a mile on the Rotorua side of the Karapiro factory. Mr Newcombe pointed out that there had been several serious accidents at this spot, and only recently a motoring tragedy was narrowly averted. The corners wanted cutting back, and he thought that the work should be included with that being carried out by the Public Works Department further on.
Mr Newcombe’s remarks were , supported by others present and the member assured the settlors that he would bring the matter before the notice of the Minister for Public Works.
It" is; to be hoped that the request will be fruitful for undoubtedly the portion of the road referred to is just as dangerous as corners that have been cut back in Fergusson’s Gully and elsewhere along the road.
