THE GOVERNOR GENERAL
ARRIVING ON TUESDAY. Until yesterday morning it was anticipated that the Governor-General designate, Lord Blcdisloc, would arrive at Wellington on Wednesday morning, or possibly Wednesday' afternoon, but a radio message from the Rangitiki now states that she should be in port oif Tuesday afternoon about two o’clock. Evidently favourable weather has enabled the vessel to make unexpectcdly good speed. The arrangements for the official reception by the Government, the Harbour Board, and the Mayor and councillors for the swearing-in ceremony and for the civic reception .are accordingly being revised. On previous occasions, the ceremony of swearing-in the Gov ; ernor-General has taken place in the open air in front of the Government or Parliament Buildings, and presumably the same procedure will be followed on Tuesday or Wednesday, if the weather is favourable.
