MONTHLY MEETING OF COUNCIL. GENERAL BUSINESS. The Waikato County Council hold its March meeting at Hamilton yesterday ■when there were present: Crs. T. Hinton (chairman), G. Smith, T. Proctor, T. H. Henderson, G. Watt, D. P. Laird, J. .11. Sampson. The clerk (Mr T. B. Insoll) and the engineer (Mr A. A. Woodward) were also in attendance. Cambridge Domain. A letter was received from the clerk of the Cambridge Domain Board re the Waikato County Council providing a share of the costs of the management of the Domain. —Received. Heavy Traffic Licenses. It was agreed to offer no objection to the annual apportionment of the heavy traffic license fees as fixed last year for the No. 3 heavy traffic district. Traffic Inspection. A circular of the report of the meeting re the group of counties for traffic inspection and the allocation therewith was presented, and it was decided to agree to same as far as the county was concerned. finance. Accounts totalling £3481 were passed for payment, after which the debit of £1717 would be at the bank. Current rates not paid to date were £4OOO. Drivers' Licenses. Mr H. G. Cribble wrote re the printing of the county's motor licences. Held over to the next meoi:i::g. Classification of Boacls. A copy of the amendment of the classification of the county roads was Tcceived and adopted. The following classification referred to Cambridge:— Third Class: Cambridge-Hamilton main highway from Cambridge Borough to Hamilton Borough. Fourth Class: Cambridge-Morrins-ville main highway, via Victoria road, from. Cambridge Borough' to junction ■with Hamilton-Morrinsvillc road; also Thornton road, St. Kilda road, Hooker's road, Hannon's road, Hargreaves' road, Zig-zag road and Bowen road.

A fourth class road is available for use thereon of- a motor lorry which, •with the load it carries, weighs not more thai four tons. Hamilton River Bridge.

The chairman stated that a meeting of representatives re the new traffic bridge had been held and the Minister of Public Works had viewed the project in a very favourable light. The Minister thought that it would be necessary to have the bridge subsidised and he was supported in this by the Chief Engineer. It was reported that the position was at present in a very satisfactory state.
