YESTERDAY'S RESULTS

TE AROHA, This Day. Polo was continued here yesterday, when sonic most exciting games were witnessed. The handicap games were played at break-neck speed. One of the most exciting games of the series was that between Cambridge A and Matangi B teams. The Cambridge four exhibited great skill but the luck was against them. Mr Gerald Brampton, of London, an English polo enthusiast, who is visiting the district, commenting last evening on the play, said: "I have seen England's best polo teams at Hurlingham, but I have never seen such reckless and daring riding as that displayed by Te Awamutu and Maiarfgr yesterday and Your New Zealand ponies and players would beat any team in the world under proper training and management. The only fault—if you can eall it a polo fault—l have to find with New Zealand polo players at this week's games is that they are rather inclined to unduly sacrifice their very clever ponies." The results of -yesterday's -games were: —Whangarei (12) beat Waimai A (2), 17 —£; Waihou A (1) beat Cambridge C (18), 23—19; Waihou B (16) beat Waimai B (6), 16—12; Matangi B (8) beat Cambridge A (4), 10—8; Matangi A (1 behind) beat Cambridge B (7), 13—8. The handicap games will be continued to-day, the draw being as follows: 9 a.m., Waihou B (16) v. Matangi A (1 behind); 11 a.m., Waimai C (17) v. Matangi C (8); 1 p.m., Whangarei (12) v.
