A CRITICISM.

(To the 'Editor). Sir,—As a recent visitor to your show just concluded, I would like to ask a few pertinent remarks. On the first day a glaring case of irregularity occurred. In the thoroughbred yearling class only one colt was entered, namely Toplight, when the particular class was called on Tor judging. The above-named colt was led into the ring by Mr Geo. Barclay, an old owner and breeder. A few minutes later a “dark horse” was produced and secured the decision. May I ask why? On the second day, my son, aged nine, had a pony entered for a class hands and under. He was there at 9.30 a.m. The judging took place at 10 a.m. No steward advised him, with llie result that he “missed the bus” — a disappointment and waste of entrance money. Again, I ask why?

As an old and successful showman I must say this: either the present administration wakes up or your show will become as dead as Julius Caesar. —I am, etc.,

BARTON G. ROSS, Cambridge, Feb. 6, 1930.
