HARVEST FESTIVAL

LEAMINGTON CELEBRATIONS. SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. The annual harvest festival in connection with the Leamington Methodist Church was celebrated last Sunday, when Rev. Wesley Parker conducted both morning and evening services. The congregations "were large on both occasions, the church accommodation being taxed to its utmost in the evening. There was a very fine display of harvest offerings, which had been most artistically arranged, and together with the floral and evergreen decorations made a fine spectacle indeed. Rev. Parker gave excellent sermons, suitable to the occasion, and the services were most appropriate and hearty. _ Social and Sale. On Tuesday night, at the Learnington Hall, a social gathering was held, there being a good attendance. A capital musical programme was rendered, every item being greatly appreciated. The programme was as under:-‘-Piano-fore duet, Mrs Vinall and Miss Lucy Tripp; recital, Miss Langt.on; song, Miss Maud Giles; some humour, Mr Wooldridge; cornet solo, Mr Meannie; vocal quartette, Misses Penn and Gutry, Messrs Geo.. Gutry and Frank Penn; monologue,'Mr Frank Penn; humorous recital, Miss Valerio Lewis; song, Miss Penn; pianoforte solo, Mrs W. J. .Smellie; song, Mr Frank Norman; humour, Mr Wooldridge; song, Mrs Randall. The accompaniments were provided by Mcsdames Smellie and Vinall, and Misses Marjorie Penn and Norman.

After the concert Mr N. Hill kindly wielded the hammer ,and disposed of the harvest offerings by auction, all .being cleared. Supper was then served, and brought to a conclusion a most enjoyable function.
