THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY. COMMENCEMENT ON WEDNESDAY". The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of-'New Zealand will commence its sittings in Dunedin on Wednesday. The retiring Moderator, Professor Hcwitson, formerly master of Knox College, will deliver an address, following which the Moderator-elect, the Rev. George Budd, of Dovonport, will preside and speak on “The Church in a Changing World.” A New Zealander born, Air Budd was, prior to his appointment as Home Mission superintendent, minister in charge of St. Paul’s, Dovonport, and it was during his ministry that the present fine brick building was erected. A commanding figure, Air Budd should invest the office of Aloderator with dignity and marked ability. The following nominations for the position of Aloderator of the Assembly of 1931 have been made:—The Revs. H. H. Burton, A. Begg, J. Collie, R. Alaekie, D. Alclvor, A. B. Todd and W. Trotter, and Air W. 11. Rose.
