Last-night the Debating Circle in connection with the Cambridge Literary* and' Debating Society held its first debate at St. Andrew's Hall, .when there was an attendance of some 13 members; including several juveniles. Meredith took the lead in the affirmative and negative respectively, and. both gave capital speeches, bringing forth good arguments to support their advocacy.
