ME F. R. WATTERS APPOINTED. TAKES OFFICE NEXT MONTH. As reported some little time ago, the Borough Council received thirty applications for the position of town clerk, reridercd vacant through the resignation of Mr W. S. Milburn. The applications were reduced to three, viz., Messrs A. E. H. Harrison, of Auckland; C. Tucker, Otorohanga; and F. R. Watters., Ngaruawahia. . After a personal interview- with these gentlemen, at a special meeting of the Borough Council Mr F. R. Watters was appointed to the position. Mr Watters, a young .married man, has held the position of town clerk at Ngaruawahia for the past three years, prior to which he,was employed in the Government Audit Department. Mr Milburn will not relinquish office until the end of November, but Mr Watters will take up his duties about the middle of November.
