SITUATION GRAVER

GENERAL STRIKE IN YANGTSYE. BOYCOTT OF FOREIGN GOODS. (Received 12 noon). SHANGHAI, April 6. A general strike and boycott of all foreign goods in the entire Yangtsye has commenced, and the situation is rapidly bocoming graver. All Japaneso are evacuating the Yangtsye Valley. Warships of international and Asiatic fleets are rushing to important ports and a large fleet is concentrating at Hankow, where the Japanese Admiral 's sworn word of honour prevents Chinese trespassing in Japanese concession. He promises to maintain the dignity of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The present strength of the Japanese landing party at Hankow is 300, and is .being hurriedly reinforced. The cruiser Tentyu is on route. Wireless from Nanking says the antiforcign feeling is still evident. Foreign houses arc being looted. A Northern aeroplane dropped two bombs on Pukow, and three on Nanking city.
