CHINESE OUTRAGES. REPARATION DEMANDS. ' -■■■— STERN REPRESENTATIONS TO CANTONESE. (By Cable—Press Association). LONDON, April 1. The British Cabinet met last evening and discussed the position in China with special reference to the Nai)M D gr outrages. : • It is understood it -was decided to make stern representations to the Cantonese Government. One report states that the decision reached was to sefid an ultimatum to the Nationalists demanding reparation for the murder of British subjects. ‘‘The Nanking outrages and -the increasing truculence of the Cantonese mark a turning point which has changed the whole aspect of the relations of the Powers "with the Southerners,” said an official spokesman at the Foreign Office. The official added that draft demands for heavy reparation for the events of Nanking was being drawn up in London, Washington and Tokio. Although. France and Italy were not directly concerned in the action at Nanking they would be fully informed about the negotiations.
