' The final resulted in a rather easy victory for. Mclntyre by 23 to 15. The, game was very evenly to the seventh head when the score B—6 in Mclntyre’s favour. Cooper was playing a splendid lead game for Bigelow who was failing a little yto hold his opponent. At the eighth head Mclntvrp’s lead drew one and Mclntyre drew three more, Bigelow bailed to alter and suffered a further disaster on the ninth head, his opponent securing a four and the score was 6. Bigelow and Mclntyre took a single each on the 10th and 11th heads. At the 12tli Bigelow was lyifig -one when, skips went up. Mclntyre fook it off. for 5, but Bigelow drew the shot. Not only from the viewpoints/of entries and play the tournament generally speaking and] especially socially, has been the most successful in the history Of the club. The tournament committee are deserving of the club’s thanks for they have not left a single loophole for Naturally the bulk of preparatory work fell to the secretary (Mr Edgay James). The writer cannot pass without referring to the able assistance of the assistant tournament secretary j(Mr ,S.. Armstrong). Each year this gentleman voluntarily comes forward and gives splendid service in the club’s Interests. 'Mr Armstrong-gives up his whole time in the players’ interests, but only those few who are in close contact with him can fully appreciate • his great help to the tournament. It was a happy idea that prompted the cpmmittee to appoint a green supervisor and in this connection Mr Robert ‘Webber proved an able official. The smooth-running of the games was entirely, due to his prompt and careful supervision. The catering arrangements were .quite satisfactory and those ladies who attended to the bowlers’ wants in this direction arc deserving of the club’s thanks. The Greens. The greens which were not quite up to the standard produced last Easter, nevertheless played very well throughout.,, Tlie croquet greens wove a little ** rough,” but the majority of the. visitors were glad to play on these greens rather than to have been left out of the tournament.
