HAMILTON STOCK SALES. N.Z. Loan and Mer. Agency, Co., Ltd,. Hamilton report:— At Hamilton Stock Sale on Tuesday there was a heavy yarding- of fat and store cattle. Ox beef declined in value to the extent of fully £1 per head; cow beef held to nearly late rates. .Stores met with good competition. A fair entry of fat and forward sheep, mostly fhorn, realised about last week's prces* We quote: Medium fat steers £9 11/ to £lO 6/; fat cows £7 13/; light killable cows £4 to £4 15/; store eows £1 19/ to £3; 18-month to 2-yr.-old Shorthorn heifers £2 15/ to £2 17/; shorn fat wethers £1 16/6; fat owes £1 6/11 to £1 10/3; dairy cows £5 to £9 15/; springing heifers £4 to £6 5/. Pig*. Baconers £3 6/ to £3 12/; fat porker* £2 8/ to £3 3/; store porkers £1 16/ to £2 4/; slips £1 10/ to £1 15/; weaners £1 to £l 9/; small weaners 16/ to 19/-. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton saleyards on Tuesday as under: —
There was a good yarding of fat sheep, only a few pens of storos being yarded. Fat sheep were a shade easier. Prime shorn wethers made 34/3; heavy shorn ewes 28/ to 29/6; prime spring lambs 31/; store ewes 23/; small woolly hoggets 24/: store 4-tooth wethers 27/6. There was a. large yarding of beef, which was also a shade lower than last week. Light prime ox sold at equal to 30/ per 1001 b, prime cows and heifers made equal to 25/ to 28/ per 10011); ordinary quality cow beef 20/ to 23/ per 1001 b. The advertised lino of 250 store cows was keenly competed for and sold at satisfactory prices. Good P.A. cows in forward condition made up to £4 16/; good Hereford ditto to £4 17/; Shorthorn ditto £4 12/; ordinary store cows £:*» to £3 15/;, store 3yr and 4-yr bullocks in low condition £5 2/6 to £4 ;">/• Dairy eowa and heifers were not in keen demand, and sold at late rates. There was a, large yarding of pigs.
