A DOUBLE TRAGEDY.

MURDER AND SUICIDE. (By Cable —Press Association). SYDNEY, Oct. 2S. A double tragedy is reported from Tumberumba, in the Albury district. The 'bodies of Patrick Wolff, and awoman supposed to be Amy Turner, were found lying together with bullet wounds in the heads. Apparently the woman was first killed and then Wolff committed suicide. The Central News states that Messrs Purchell and Commoner Heads of the Trade Union Delegation, are leaving for Moscow on November 7th, to invest tigate the Zinovieff letter. CURE FOR TDBEECUTiOSIS. DANISH PROFESSOR'S DISCOVERY (By Cable —Press Association). COPENHAGEN, Oct. 29. Professor Molgaard has discovered a treatment for tuberculosis by injecting a gold solution coupled with the injection of a serum counteracting the poisonous gold effects. He asserts that 30fr patients, including chronic cases, havebeen cured. The professor admits tbetreatment will possibly hasten death ia desperate cases. NO WORK. STRIKE THREATENED. It is announced in shipping circles that from 7 on Saturday morning till Monday morning no work will bo done by members of the Waterside Workers 7 Federation on any wharf in Australia, and stop-work meeting will be held in every port. The move is believed to be a threat to force the bands of ship-own-ers by striking when the Melbourne Cup carnival is at.hand. It is announced that the quarterlyadjustment in wages, owing to the reduction in the cost of living, has resulted in a reduction of 2/6 monthly in wages to all maritime unions, and a fall of a half-penny per hour to 2/9i f r waterside workers.
