LATE CABLE NEWS
FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE. CHECKED IN CALIFORNIA. NO CURE KNOWN. (By Cable —Press Association) WASHINGTON, June 5. It is officially announced that the foot and mouth disease in California, which necessitated the slaughter of many herds of cattle, has been checked, ft is uncertain, however, whether it will be entirely eradicated for several months.
A large area has been released from quarantine. All diseased cattle are.now underground, but a recurrence of the disease is possible. Officials state that there is no dependable cure, not even the method of treatment which hits been discovered.
