VISIT OF NATIONAL SECRET T A special meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Board of Governors was held on Saturday night last, when Mr T. F. Richards presided over a. good attendance of members. The meeting was held for the purpose of making arrangements for the proposed visit of Mr Varney (National Secretary), who has promised to visit Cambridge from July 10th to 13th inclusive. with the object of assisting the local organisation to a better footing, and to he]]) improve the finances. After considerable discussion, it was resolved to adopt the following programme in connection with the visit: —
Tuesday, July 30. —Meeting of Board of Directors to welcome Mr Varney.
Wednesday .--Mooring; of all members of the Association, by invitation, address by Mr Varney, short musical programme, tea and sandwiches provided.
Thursday.—Sit-down ten for business men and sympathisers, report of work done and prospective work, etc. Lnnch-liour prayer meetings will bo hold each day dating the visit. One of the main objects of the visit will be an attempt to enrol sustaining members, to place the Association on a good footing. Many matters of detail in connection with the meetings were discussed on Saturday night, sub-committees being set up. and arrangements being made for carrying out various proposals.
