Another early colonist, Mr George Wright, dud at his residence, Epsom, Auckland. o;i Friday last, at the age of 79. .Mr Wright came to New Zealand in IStirt and for a time worked on tho Otago goldfields. K. liarty, of Shannon, filled the vacancy caused by Mr Carpenter’s recent transfer to Auckland.

At the last oTioir practice of >St. Pawl's Methodist Ohoir, Mrs.Edmonds was presented by* Mr H. *l. Easter '(choiv-niaster). on behalf of the choir, with a beautifully-bound Methodist hymnal, as a token of appreciation of her faithful and regular services over a period of some sixteen years. Mrs Edmonds is about to leave with her husband (Dr Edmonds) for an extended holiday, and the choir members took this opportunity of showing their appreciation of her services.
